Summer has been busy at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, with vacation travelers filling the terminals. Amid the rush, Teen Navigators have been helping passengers find their way and feel supported throughout their journey.
The Teen Navigators are part of the airport’s volunteer program, a cornerstone of guest service at America’s Friendliest Airport®.
From Teen Navigators to Navigators, Navigator Buddies, and Navigator Chaplains, volunteers help Phoenix Sky Harbor deliver a world-class experience. Their dedication, compassion, and service help millions of travelers feel welcome from the moment they arrive.
Teen Navigators
This summer, Phoenix Sky Harbor welcomed its largest Teen Navigator cohort in six years, with more than 50 teens volunteering. They work alongside Navigators, learn customer service, communication, and leadership skills, and assist guests throughout the terminals.
A Program of Welcome
The Navigator program, launched in November 2000, is now a key part of airport guest service. Navigator Buddies and therapy dogs spread goodwill across the terminals, while Navigator Chaplains offer spiritual care and comfort to travelers and employees.
